Festive events will be closed with colourful fireworks in Ufa on May 9

In Ufa, events dedicated to the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 will be closed with colourful fireworks. On the eve of and on Victory Day, solemn rallies, flower-laying ceremonies, official, cultural-entertainment, sports-mass, social-charitable and other events, celebratory corporate programs with honouring war and labour veterans will be held in Ufa.

According to the press service of the Ufa administration, the main festive events will be organized on May 9. At 10 o'clock a traditional solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Fire and the Memorial to Homefront Workers will take place in Victory Park.

At 12 o'clock participants of the Immortal Regiment All-Russian campaign carrying banners with photos of their relatives and veterans of the Great Patriotic War will march along October Avenue. In order to ensure traffic safety during the procession, traffic in October Avenue from 50 let SSSR Street to the Slavy Boulevard will be shut down from 10.00 to 14.00.

The festive fireworks in honour of the Victory Day are planned at 22 o'clock in V.I. Lenin square.

On May 10, the City Palace of Culture is preparing a concert program for veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Also the "St. George's Ribbon" city campaign is going on in Ufa.

A number of sports events will be organized by the Victory Day. The Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 4 will host the Open Ufa Championship within the framework of the 39th Boxing Memorial of twice Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Gareyev. On May 6, the 69th Open Track and Field Athletics will take place at 11.30 at the stadium "Dynamo". Here at 14 o'clock the Ufa Open Cycling Championship among boys and girls will be also carried out.

Festive events will be held in all districts of the city.
