It is proposed to extend childcare allowance payment up to three years in Russia

UFA, 20 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The State Duma proposes to extend payment of childcare allowance up to three years. This is reported by the federal media referring to the bill, developed by the deputy of the Committee for Labour, Social Policy and Affairs of Veterans Sergei Vostretsov.
Now the child care allowance for is paid only during the first year and a half, its size is about 40 percent of the average earnings. The amount depends on the salary, region of residence. The average minimum allowance for the care of the first child is about 2.9 thousand rubles, for the second and subsequent children - 5.8 thousand rubles, and the average maximum is about 11.6 thousand rubles. In the period from one and a half to three years only a monthly compensation of 50 rubles per month is paid.
Less than half of working mothers do not work till a child reaches 18 months. The issue of getting a place in kindergartens for children from three years is pressing, the deputy argues.
Vostretsov's initiative also provides for a fixed allowance for people whose children aged between three and seven years have not received a place in a kindergarten. The amount of payment will be three thousand rubles per month for each child. According to mothers, the extension of payments will be helpful.
