Emergencies Ministry warns of stormy winds in Bashkiria

UFA, 17 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Emergencies warns of stormy winds. Referring to the data of the Republican Office for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Republic of Bashkortostan informs that it is expected cloudy weather with clearings in the region on April 18. At night and in the afternoon there will be light rains increasing to moderate in the north. Wind south-west, west 8-13 m/s. Gusts can reach up to 18 m/s. The air temperature at night will be 0, + 5 degrees, in the daytime + 4, + 9 C, in the south to +15 C.

Rescuers warn of haze chances for one or two kilometers in separate parts of highways at night and in the morning.

The Ministry of Emergencies recommends avoiding staying near power lines, trees, billboards.

"Pedestrians please be careful being outside and when crossing roadways. Drivers are requested to observe speed limits. It is deadly dangerous to stand under power lines in strong winds and approach broken wires", the department reports.

In the period of storm winds it is necessary to check condition of power grids and equipment, heating stoves in apartment houses, to ensure serviceability of internal and external fire water supply, telephone communications, and to prepare fire-fighting equipment.
