On Cosmonautics Day large-scale flash mob "Raise your Head" will be held in social networks

The idea of the campaign was born at the media forum of the All-Russian People’s Front "Truth and Justice" in St. Petersburg. Everyone can take part in it.

Users of social networks are invited to make SELFI with a head raised to the sky and post pictures with a hashtag #podnimigolovu. The beginning of the campaign starts at 09.07 Moscow time. It was at that time when the "Vostok-1" spacecraft was launched, which brought Yuri Gagarin into space. In addition, the campaign is timed to the release of the film "Time of the First" dedicated to the history of the space mission "Voskhod-2".

Celebration of the Cosmonautics Day was established on April 12 by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 9, 1962. The holiday received an international status in 1968. Since 2011, it has one more name - the International Human Space Flight Day. On this day 56 years ago, a citizen of the Soviet Union, Senior Lieutenant Yuri Gagarin on the spacecraft Vostok for the first time in the world orbited around the Earth, having started the era of manned spaceflights. The flight in the near-earth space lasted 1 hour and 48 minutes.
