Visually impaired teenagers are taught to cook in Ufa

UFA, 11 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Ufa, visually impaired teenagers - pupils of the Ufa specialized boarding school No. 28 are taught to cook food for themselves. The project "Kashevary" (Cooks) was initiated by the autonomous non-commercial organization "Nezrimy Put’", the regional Ministry of Labour and Social Relations reported.

"Children from all over the republic come to the boarding school, they spend the main time there, and after graduation they go to universities, institutes, and again they stay away from their parents," said the head of the organization Elena Bondarenko. "They go to the master classes by groups of three; work is done individually with each of them".

The schoolchildren are taught to combine products, correctly add seasonings, to operate the kitchen equipment. After preparing the dishes, the participants of the project serve the table, and when they go home for the weekend, they do their homework - cook their family a dish, which they have learnt to cook.
