Today is World Health Day

Every year, the World Health Day is dedicated to the global problems facing the health of the planet and is held under the different mottos: "Good health adds life to years", "Making a pregnancy safer", "Protecting health from the adverse effects of climate change", "1000 cities - 1000 lives", "Food Safety","Beat Diabetes! ".

In 2017, the theme of the World Health Day campaign was a depression. According to WHO, about 100 million people show signs of depression and need adequate medical care. According to forecasts, by 2020, the prevalence of depression will come in the second place after diseases of the cardiovascular system. In extreme cases, the disorder can lead to suicide - today it is the second leading cause of death among people aged 15-29 years.

The overall goal of the World Health Day events is to make sure that as many people with depression as possible get help and receive help in all countries.

In Bashkortostan, a three-level system of providing specialized psychotherapeutic assistance to the population is organized. The first level is in the central and city hospitals. The second level centres operate in Sterlitamak, Beloretsk, Uchaly, Sibai, Birsk, Kumertau, Meleuz, Ilishevo District. Specialists provide assistance locally, in difficult cases, patients are sent to the third-level institution - the Republican Psychotherapeutic Centre". There is also a single crisis hotline - 8-800-7000-183, with consultations of psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists.
