UFA, 5 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Kamil Khasanov/. On April 10, the German Language Week starts in Ufa, which includes meetings with German writers, scientists, festivals of German cinema and German songs, round tables and competitions.
The grand opening of the "German Language Week 2017 in the Republic of Bashkortostan" will be held at the Rodina Cinema (beginning at 18.00) on Monday, April 10. The German Film Festival will be opened at the same place with the film "When we dreamed" (the nominee of the "Golden Bear" of the Berlin Film Festival). The same day, a round table conference of German and Ufa writers will be held at 15.00 in the Bashinform News Agency.
On Tuesday, April 11, the literary theme will be continued: literature lovers will be waited for in the German reading room of the Ahmet-Zaki Validi National Library at 18.00. The guests of the meeting will be famous German writers Angelika Jodl and Andreas Gets – they will read excerpts from their works. Ufa literature will be represented by the prose writer, the winner of the Sh. Babich award Igor Saveliev, whose books are translated into German. The teacher, representative of the German state organization "Central Administration of Schools Abroad" Andreas Steppan will tell about the "Anthology of Modern German Literature", which is published in Ufa.
On the same day an international scientific conference will be held at Bashkir State University, which participants will discuss problems and prospects for studying the German language in Bashkortostan. On Wednesday, April 12, scientific and educational events will be held at the venues of the university and the Ufa school No.61.
A "music" day will take place on Thursday, April 13. M. Akmullah Pedagogical University will host a festival of German songs among students, and the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity "Orion" will hold a similar festival among schoolchildren.
The German Week will be closed with activities for students on Friday, April 14. The Burgomaster of Groschenau Frank Poyker will deliver a speech to the students of the Institute of Economics, Finance and Business, Bashkir State University. The Faculty of Romano-Germanic Philology Bashkir State University will hold a finale of the inter-regional competition of literary translation.
Entrance to all events, except film screenings, is free.
