Ufa City Council called for increased vigilance in connection with terrorist attack in St. Petersburg

UFA, 4 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The Ufa Administration called for increased vigilance in connection with a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg which happened the day before.

"We must be very vigilant, the situation is complicated. It is necessary to check once again the life support systems, primarily energy facilities, water supply and sanitation facilities, and the security system as a whole," it was stressed today at a daily briefing in the Ufa city administration.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, on April 3, an explosion occurred on the runway between the Sennaya Ploshchad and Technological Institute-2 stations of the St. Petersburg metro. One more blast on the Ploshchad Vosstaniya was prevented. According to the latest data, 11 people died, more than 50 were injured.

The Investigative Committee instituted criminal proceedings on the terrorist act. The investigation will also check other versions of the incident. Three days of mourning are declared in St. Petersburg.
