Emergency Situations Ministry announced storm warning in Bashkiria

UFA, 27 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. In Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced a storm warning. Referring to the data of the Republican Office for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Bashkortostan informs that on Tuesday, March 28, it is expected cloudy weather in the region. At night a light sleet turning into snow and rain mixed in the daytime accompanied with slight glaze, snow deposits and slush build-up on wires and trees are expected. Wind south-west 9-14 m/s, in the afternoon gusts can reach 20 m/s. The air temperature at night will be 0, -5 C, in the east dropping to -10 C, in the afternoon -2, + 3 C. Emergency response groups warn that during the day visibility will deteriorate to 500-1000 m on the roads, sometimes with icy conditions.

In case of wind strengthening the Emergencies Ministry recommends staying inside of buildings, taking shelter in underground passageways or entrances of buildings. Do not hide from a strong wind near walls of houses, behind public transport stops, billboards, unfinished buildings, under trees. It is extremely dangerous to stand under power lines and approach broken wires. In the period of storm winds, it is necessary to check condition of power grids and equipment, heating stoves in apartment houses, to ensure serviceability of internal and external fire water supply, telephone communications, and to prepare fire-fighting equipment.

In case of voltage jumps, please disconnect all household appliances, pull out plugs from sockets to avoid a fire.
