Emergencies Ministry warns of increased winds and reduced visibility in Bashkiria

UFA, 27 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. According to weather forecasters, on Monday, March 27, occasional light snow and rain are predicted. A slight glaze and black frost are forecasted at night and in the morning in some parts of highways. Wind south-west 7-12 m/s, gusts up to 17 m s. The air temperature at night will be -4, -9C, in the daytime -2, +3 C.

On Tuesday, March 28, it is expected a little sleet, with snow and rain mixed in the daytime. A slight glaze, with black frost is forecasted at night and in the morning in some parts of highways. Wind south-west 7-12 m/s. Gusts can reach up to 17 m/s. The air temperature at night will be -4, -9C, during the day -1, + 4 C.

In case of wind strengthening the Emergencies Ministry recommends staying inside of buildings, taking shelter in underground passageways or entrances of buildings. Do not hide from a strong wind near walls of houses, behind public transport stops, billboards, unfinished buildings, under trees. It is extremely dangerous to stand under power lines and approach broken wires. In the period of storm winds, it is necessary to check condition of power grids and equipment, heating stoves in apartment houses, to ensure serviceability of internal and external fire water supply, telephone communications, and to prepare fire-fighting equipment.

In case of voltage jumps, please disconnect all household appliances, pull out plugs from sockets to avoid a fire.
