UNESCO Geopark creation in Bashkiria will be discussed in "Yangan-Tau"

UFA, 24 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. On March 24, an issue of UNESCO Geopark creation in Bashkortostan will be discussed at the "Yangan-Tau" sanatorium. Representatives of the Government and the State Assembly of the Republic of Bashkortostan, ministries, administrations of the north-eastern regions of the republic, scientists will take part in the visiting session of the working group. The issue of creating the Geopark is included in the communiqué-agreement on cooperation between our republic and UNESCO signed on October 1, 2013. The initiative of Bashkortostan was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. As the Ministry of Ecology RB reminded, in February the department proposed to implement a pilot project to create the Geopark in the northeast of the republic where 31 specially protected natural areas were located. These are five state nature reserves and 26 natural monuments. "Their total area is almost 50 thousand hectares. Also there is a geological monument in the territory of the Salavat district - "Geological section Mechetlino". One of the most popular Bashkir sanatoriums - "Yangan-Tau" is also located there", the press service of the Ministry of Ecology RB informs.
