Maternity capital can be replaced by monthly allowances - media

UFA, 13 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. The State Duma proposed to introduce a more flexible system of support for families instead of maternity capital, RIA Novosti reported. Instead of the maternity capital program, it is proposed to introduce monthly allowances for native and adopted children before they reach adulthood: three thousand rubles for one child, eight thousand for two and 15,000 for three children.

Sergei Vostretsov, the member of the State Duma Committee for Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, and Irina Volynets, the chairman of the National Parenting Committee, put forward such an initiative. The bill will be discussed at a round table in the State Duma on March 23.

If a family adopted or born more than three children, it is offered to pay allowances only for three. The authors of the initiative propose to allocate a land plot with connected communications for families raising five or more children. Families with seven or more children, according to the project, are also entitled to a "GAZelle" van.
