Two-month norm of precipitation fell in Bashkortostan in February

UFA, 3 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Bashkortostan in February two-month norm of precipitation fell, the Bashkir Met Office sums up the results of the last month.

Experts mark that the beginning of the year was snowy in the republic. As in January, in February, precipitation was significantly higher than the normal values. 190 percent of the monthly norm of snow fell. Kumertau and Beloretsk weather stations recorded the greatest amount of precipitation, where 367 percent of the monthly norm and (337 percent) respectively were recorded.

In Ufa, this month the weather was drier compared with the previous January. If in January 205 percent of the monthly norm of snow fell at Ufa-Dema weather station, then in February - 188 percent.

"As a whole, no snowfall records were observed in February. Over the past 20 years it is the fourth snowy February”, the Republican Office for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring informs. "The February of 2008 holds the championship with amount of precipitation 248 percent of norm, 244 percent in 2001, and 232 percent in 2007."

The Russian Met Office forecasts that in March the amount of precipitation in the region is expected to be near or above normal (20-40 mm).
