Salavat Yulaev has finished Gagarin Cup-2017 campaign having lost to Ak Bars

UFA, 3 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. HC Salavat Yulaev (Ufa) finished its anniversary (55-year) season in the Kontinental Hockey League. The team of Igor Zakharkin was eliminated from the Gagarin Cup-2017 in the first round, having lost in five matches to Ak Bars (Kazan) - 1: 4.

In the fifth match in Kazan the Ufa team managed to hold on till the overtime. After the goal, missed shorthanded in the first period, Salavat Yulaev bounced back in the third period during the powerplay - 1: 1 by Zahar Arzmastsev.

In the overtime the Ufa players had a chance to use one more penalty, but instead Sami Lepistö was also sent to the penalty bench, and later Salavat Yulaev once again in this series missed a sharp counterattack - and Jiří Sekáč outplayed Ufa Niklas Svedberg - 2: 1.
