Bashkiria - among leading regions in terms of mortality reducing
UFA, 15 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Bashkortostan is marked among the leading regions in terms of mortality decline. Positive demographic indicators were registered in 67 Russian regions. The data were presented during a telephone conference with the regions on the demographic situation chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets.
In Russia as a whole for 12 months of 2016 the mortality rate decreased by 1.5 percent or 23.5 thousand people compared with the same period of 2015. The mortality rate was 12.9 percent per thousand, in 2015 - 13.1 percent. This figure has not been registered in the country for more than 20 years.
In Bashkortostan mortality decreased by 3.8 percent in the last year, or by 1,824 people - the republic has the best figures in absolute numbers.
It was observed mortality decline from blood circulatory diseases - by 2.8 percent, tuberculosis - by 16.7 percent, neoplasms - by 0.8 percent, respiratory diseases - 8 percent, diseases of the digestive system – by 3.6 percent, external causes - by 6.7 percent, including from traffic accidents and alcohol poisoning.
