UFA, 8 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. On the night of February 10, Ufa residents will be able to witness a penumbral lunar eclipse, the city planetarium informs.
During the penumbral eclipse the Moon passes through the Earth's penumbra, without entering into the Earth's shadow. The celestial phenomenon can be observed in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America as well as in most parts of Russia, except the Far East.
"In good weather conditions the eclipse from the beginning to the end will be seen in the territory of Bashkortostan, but one should keep in mind that nothing special will happen and decrease in brightness of the moon is unlikely to be noticeable", the planetarium experts explain.
In Ufa, the Moon will start to enter the Earth's penumbra at 03.34 local time. The peak of the eclipse will occur at 05.43, the phenomenon will last for more than four hours.
