Ufa Airport special services work in emergency mode during snowfall

UFA, 6 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The special services of the Ufa Airport work in emergency mode during a snowfall. Since the beginning of the winter season more than 79,000 cubic meters of snow were removed from the territory of the aviation hub: 17 600 - in November, 32 400 – in December, 29 000 in January, the press service of the company reports.

Every day, 13 units of special equipment clean continuously an apron and a runway. Regular and timely removal of snow is provided by three dump trucks.

There are four sweeper-blower machines at the airport that clean the paved runway in an extremely short time. At least four snow machines are on constant duty on the forecourt of the airport.

"During the snowfall the services are transferred into enhanced mode, additional personnel are allocated. A high meteorological minimum assigned to the paved runway-2 contributes largely to delays absence. It allows flying with virtually no limitations on visibility" the press service of the airport commented on.
