Egypt may open for Russians already in February

UFA, 31 January 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Egypt may open for Russian tourists already in February. On February 8-9, Rosaviation control checks will be held at the airports of the country, after which the decision will be announced to restore the charter and regular flights to three cities of the Arab Republic - Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh.

As the "Izvestia" reports, air traffic will be resumed only if all safety requirements of the Egyptian side. It is expected that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation will make an official statement immediately after testing. It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian side carried out all the necessary work. Moreover, the three largest airports in the country are ready to receive Russian citizens - individual terminals are allocated for them.

However, the opening date of flights is not designated as the decision shall be taken by the Russian Government.

The air traffic between Russia and Egypt was suspended in November 2015 after the A321 crash over the Sinai Peninsula. The plane flying from Sharm El Sheikh to St Petersburg was blown up. 224 people were on board, all of them were killed.
