Bashkortostan adopts Israel's experience in geriatrics

UFA, 31 January 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On January 30, a visit of the Russian delegation to Israel began as part of the Joint Russian-Israeli Commission for Trade-Economic Cooperation. The delegation also included representatives of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Bashkortostan.

The event was organized for specialists of medical and social services in order to familiarize with the system of providing geriatric and palliative care, rehabilitation for senior citizens, as well as social rehabilitation system for people with mental disorders.

Bashkortostan was included the federal pilot project on the development of geriatric services "Care Territory". The main objective of the project is improving the health care system for citizens of the older generation, as well as development of geriatric services, including vocational training and further education of specialists in this field.

During a working trip meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Health of Israel will be organized for the participants.

It is planned to open in the republic 35 geriatric offices in clinics and 30 geriatric beds at the Republican Clinical Hospital for War Veterans as part of the project in 2017. Currently, the training of specialists in Moscow and Ufa is organized. The Russian Ministry of Health in 2016 approved a procedure for providing medical aid to the population on the "Geriatrics" area, based on the principles of this service organization in Israel.
