Ufa will bid for hosting major international competitions in ice hockey - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 23 January 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. Ufa will bid for carrying out the new major international competitions. This was stated by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, following the Week of Hockey Stars 2017 finished in Ufa.

“We are certainly ready to hold new competitions and will try to be qualified for hosting the biggest, including international ice hockey competitions - both men’s and women’s,” said the Head of the Republic. “We will always welcome the big hockey in Ufa.”

Rustem Khamitov and the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Rene Fasel did not rule out a possibility of holding the World Hockey Championship in Ufa.

Recall that the Week of Hockey Stars in the capital of Bashkortostan was closed with the Kontinental Hockey League All-Star Game, which was held for the first time in history in a new format - the tournament of four teams composed of the best players from each league division. The final match between the East and the West was won by the Chernyshev Division with a score of 3:2.
