Sergey Semak is officially head coach of FC Ufa

UFA, 30 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. Sergey Semak was appointed to the post of the head coach of the football club Ufa. The labour agreement with 40-year-old is concluded for one and a half years, the press service of the club reports.

Semak is one of the most titled Russian footballers, is a five-time champion of Russia in three different clubs: CSKA Moscow (2003), Rubin (2008, 2009) and Zenit (2010, 2011-12); three-time silver medalist of Russia (1998, 2002, 2004) and the bronze medalist of the Russian tournament (1999). As part of CSKA team Semak won the Cup of Russia (2002). The midfielder won three times Russian Super Cup: in 2004 with CSKA, in 2010 with Rubin and in 2011 with Zenit. He is the UEFA Cup Winner 2005 (CSKA Moscow) and the bronze medalist of the Euro-2008.

In 2013, Sergey Semak completed his professional playing career and joined the coaching staff of the St. Petersburg FC Zenit as an assistant to Luciano Spalletti. Subsequently, Semak was appointed the acting head coach after the dismissal of Luciano Spalletti. Then he gave way to André Villas-Boas, having remained at his headquarters. In September - October 2015 he headed the HC Zenit in six Russian league matches due to disqualification of Villas-Boas. After the dismissal of the Portuguese expert he continued to work in the coaching staff of Mircea Lucescu.

In 2014, Sergey Semak joined the coaching staff of the Russian national team led by Fabio Capello. When Capello left the team Semak kept his post in the coaching staff of Leonid Slutsky. As a trainer he was involved in Euro 2016. After the team was headed by Stanislav Cherchesov, Semak left the team's coaching staff.
