The rise in prices, victory of Donald Trump at the US presidential elections, doping scandals was the main events for the residents of Russia, according to the "Levada-centre". 30 percent of respondents named depreciation of money the main event of the year. The presidential elections in the United States were the most important for 28 percent of respondents. The Olympic Games and doping scandals took the third place - per 23 percent. The military conflict in Syria was in the fourth place with 22 percent. It was followed by the death of children in Karelian lake - 20 percent. The scandal with Panama’s offshore was important for 1 percent of respondents. The meeting of ROC Patriarch and the Pope was mentioned by 5 percent, the same attention was attracted by the trial of Nadezhda Savchenko.

The "Levada Centre" experts clarify that the poll was conducted prior to such incidents as mass poisoning by "Hawthorn" tincture and the murder of the Russian ambassador in Turkey.
