Temperature dropped to -44 C in one of Bashkiria districts

UFA, 21 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. Residents of Bashkortostan Beloretsk district today recorded the air temperature of -44 degrees Celsius at night. According to the republican Directorate for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, severe frosts occurred last night in the northern parts of the region. At the weather station Emashi (Belokataysky District) -40.9 C was recorded, at the weather station Askino (Askinsky District) -40.8 C, -40.6 C at Yanaul weather station. In the territory of the republic the air temperature dropped to -32, -39 C, in the southern parts it was warmer - from -26 to -30 C.

In the republican capital, the absolute minimum air temperature was beaten – at the Ufa Dema weather station the air temperature dropped to -36.7 degrees. This day of December has not been so frosty for the entire period of observations since 1937. The previous temperature record was set in 1978, when it was -32.5 degrees. The weather station Ufa-Airport recorded a minimum temperature of -33.3.

In the coming days it is expected less freezing weather, according to Bashkir Met Office.
