Surgery on aortic valve inserting through thigh was held for first time in Bashkortostan

UFA, 16 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. In Ufa, the Republican Cardiological Dispensary for the first time held a surgery on aortic valve inserting through thigh. The new technique was applied to cure an elderly patient with a sclerotic aortic heart disease, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health reports.

This valve is installed for the first time. Its peculiarity is that after insertion it can be re-adjusted. The previous version of the valve did not have such an opportunity. Manipulations were carried out under the supervision of the surgeon Henrik Rouge from Munich, who came to Ufa to share his experience with Bashkir colleagues.

"Today, thanks to the cooperation with major clinics, we managed to reach the fifth place on valves for heart diseases. This is a very high position in the ranking of surgical clinics", said the chief doctor of the Cardiological Dispensary Irina Nikolaeva.
