Rustem Khamitov congratulated Bashkortostan scientific community on 25th anniversary of Sciences Academy RB

UFA, 15 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. On December 15, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov delivered a speech at a solemn meeting devoted to the 25th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic.

The Head of the Region said that in 1991 he had been one of those who took a decision to establish the Academy of Sciences in Bashkortostan.

“In 1991 I worked in the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Then the Presidium considered establishment of the Academy of Sciences in the republic. This work was preceded by a frenzied activity of the organizing committee: there were debates, arguments and discussions - all as it should be”, Rustem Khamitov shared his memories.

The Head of the Republic noted that after 25 years it was clear that in spite of the scientific community activity not all of planned had been realized.

“One of the non-solved issues is a lack of clear, coordinated, collaborative work between the authorities of the republic and the scientific community. It affects and government agencies, and the scientific community itself,” said Rustem Khamitov.

According to the Head of the Republic, issues of human life and not sectoral issues come to the forefront of scientific research now. Science becomes more human-oriented.

The Head of Bashkortostan congratulated academics on the remarkable event and presented state awards to scientists who had made significant contributions to the development of the republican science.
