Bashkiria residents joined together for charity on "GivingTuesday"

UFA, 1 December 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. On November 29, a series of activities within the framework of social initiative - the International Day of Charity "GivingTuesday" was held in Bashkortostan, where Russia participated for the first time this year.

The City Development Public Foundation organized a celebration under the motto "Charity Available to Everyone", where each visitor could choose a convenient and interesting for him form of charity. The event was attended by more than 1,000 active and caring citizens. Total it was managed to raise about 77 thousand rubles. The funds will be used to support and implement the "Letter to Grandfather Frost" republican project.

The "Phoenix" Diabetic Society arranged a performance for the little patients of Republican Children's Hospital, which was attended by over 70 children. They were entertained by popular cartoon heros, presented with gifts.

The Charity Foundation for Seriously Ill Children "Poter Net" in cooperation with the Republican Blood Transfusion Station carried out a campaign on the replenishment of the National registry of potential bone marrow donors on the "GivingTuesday".

The "Brainfest" charity event - a team game on logic, intelligence and outlook was carried out. 28 teams took part in the game, and at the same time helped two wards of "Markhamat" Charitable and Educational Foundation - Maxim and Timur. The sum of 39.5 thousand rubles was raised.

Yesterday the "Markhamat" Foundation organized an auction where lots were jerseys of HC Salavat Yulaev players, sticks, caps, posters autographed by the players. It was collected 555,000 rubles. These funds will be used for the construction of a playground for children with disabilities in Ufa Foresters Park.

Several leading enterprises and companies of the republic joined the "GivingTuesday". "MegaFon" in Bashkortostan granted special movies with descriptive soundtracks and books with three-dimensional images to the Adaptation Centre for the Blind and Visually Impaired Children "Sovremennik" in Kumertau, Ufa correctional general educational boarding school No. 28 for children with visual impairment, specialized correctional children's home No. 2 in Ufa, the Bashkir republican special library for the blind. Athletes of the "Targin" Group Company transferred their prize certificate for 150 thousand rubles to inmates of Ufa boarding school No. 13 for the acquisition of two specialized wheelchairs. The Blagoveschensk Valve Plant announced a launch of the "Every Little Bit Helps New-Year Tree" city charity event, as well as organized a charity fair-exhibition of handicrafts on New Year's theme.
