Surgeons shared their experience of malignancies surgery with colleagues from other regions in Bashkiria

In Ufa, the surgeons of the Republican Clinical Oncologic Dispensary conducted a master class in malignant tumors treatment for colleagues from neighbouring regions. Doctors demonstrated two surgeries on removing malignancies from liver and colon. The procedures were carried out by different methods.

One of the patients with malignant liver tumor was removed a part of the organ. In the next operating room the other patient was operated laparoscopically on a malignant tumor in the colon.

Several years ago, patients with similar diagnoses were sent to the capital or foreign clinics, now these operations are carried out by Ufa surgeons and totally free of charge. Every year about 150 such surgeries are conducted at the Republican Oncology Centre, the Ministry of Health of Bashkortostan reported.
