Russia has not yet acquired rights to broadcast home World Cup 2018

Matches will take place in Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg. The Confederations Cup will be held from June 17 to July 2, 2017 in Kazan, Sochi, St. Petersburg and Moscow.

However, Russia itself has not yet acquired the rights to broadcast the home World Cup 2018. This is reported by "Izvestiya" on Tuesday, November 22. The Deputy Prime Minister Vitali Mutko in charge of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy, said at a media briefing: "FIFA will make a tender. So far, Russia has not acquired the rights to broadcast the World Cup, although there is a pool of companies. "Channel One", VGTRK and "Match TV " would like to purchase them. Price, in our opinion, is too high; it will be difficult just to break even".

According to the Deputy Prime Minister earlier the rights cost $32 million, and now the price has reached $100 million.
