Patrons should be provided with tax benefits - Vice-speaker of Federation Council

UFA, 18 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The Russian legislation should be improved for the development of charity, said the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Galina Karelova. It concerns two directions. The first one is volunteering. A legal framework should be established for the volunteering activities implementation in Russia.
"The draft law has been prepared a long time ago by several members of the Federation Council. It was considered in the State Duma, but has not yet been adopted. Therefore, we would like to reflect all our proposals in its resolution, to accelerate the adoption of the law," Galina Karelova said in an interview with media representatives. "The second direction is encouraging patrons, those who donate means for the charity development. Of course, the moral incentive system has its traditions. However, we must think about incentive mechanisms to encourage our entrepreneurs - perhaps it will be tax benefits to develop the culture of charity and desire to help at a much larger scale in Russia".
Participants of the "Dialogue of Women. Charity without Borders" Forum in Ufa will offer to the Government of Russia to provide tax incentives to organizations that are regularly engaged in charitable activities since the beginning of 2018. This is stated in the resolution of the forum.
