Svetlana Medvedeva visited Nativity of Blessed Virgin Cathedral Church and Rudolf Nureyev’s Choreographic College in Ufa

UFA, 16 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. In Ufa the President of Socio-Cultural Initiatives Foundation Svetlana Medvedeva visited the Cathedral Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

Nikon Metropolitan handed Svetlana Medvedeva the Tabynsk icon of the Mother of God. Svetlana Vladimirovna, in turn, donated the cathedral the icon of the Mother of God "Theodore" made in the 19th century.

Then the President of Socio-Cultural Initiatives Foundation visited the Choreographic College named after Rudolf Nureyev in order to get acquainted with gifted children education. Svetlana Medvedeva and the Chairman of the "Markhamat" Foundation Board of Trustees Gulshat Khamitova were shown all stages of dancers training.

According to the director of the institution Oliya Vildanova currently 260 children aged 10 to 18 years study there. The college has folk and classical departments.

Svetlana Medvedeva paid a particular attention to professional competitions, in which children were involved. She is one of the founders of the All-Russia competition of young performers "Russian Ballet".

The Choreographic College students participated in it twice, were awarded diplomas and reached the final stage of the competition at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

Svetlana Medvedeva also invited the Choreographic College students to participate in the 3rd All-Russian contest of young performers "Russian Ballet", which will be held in Moscow in April 2017.

The President of the Social and Cultural Initiatives Foundation was interested in the International Festival of Ballet Schools (Colleges) named after Rudolf Nureyev, which was held in Ufa in early November for the grant of the Head of the Republic. In addition to the best dance schools of Russia, the Small Nureyev's Festival was attended by dancers from Georgia, Kazakhstan and Latvia.
