Svetlana Medvedeva and Rustem Khamitov visited "White Rose" diagnostic centre

UFA, 15 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. On November 14, Svetlana Medvedeva, the President of Socio-Cultural Initiatives Foundation and Rustem Khamitov, the Head of Bashkortostan with his wife Gulshat Khamitova visited the "White Rose" Charity Medical Diagnostic Centre of Women's Health in Ufa.
The centre was opened in January this year at the initiative of Svetlana Medvedeva at the women’s consultation clinic of hospital No. 3. The "White Rose" provides an opportunity for every woman in Bashkortostan to pass a set of diagnostic tests in comfortable environment, free of charge.
Svetlana Medvedeva and Rustem Khamitov visited the premises equipped with modern specialized equipment, and evaluated the conditions where the patients of the diagnostic centre are consulted.
“Every day 25-30 women are examined in the clinic free of charge. Appointments are held by three obstetrician-gynecologists, three doctors -mammologists, two ultrasound doctors and a radiologist, psychologist and nurses. Total there are 17 people of staff,” the chief doctor of the clinic Zuhra Gurova specified. “Since the opening about 9 thousand women were examined and consulted. Specialists found 16 percent of underlying and inflammation diseases requiring medical follow-up and 23 cases of malignancies, including 14 women diagnosed with breast cancer. For 2.5 hours, our specialists examine the whole reproductive organs system of a woman and establish a diagnosis.”
Svetlana Medvedeva talked with doctors and nurses, as well as with the patients who came to the clinic.
The majority of patients are older than 40 years; they account for 64.4 percent of the clinic visitors. The "White Rose" medical centres opened in Russia are primarily designed for such category of patients.
“Today, the issues of motherhood and childhood are of huge, high priority in our country. But the rate of the female reproductive system oncology diseases, unfortunately, is increasing. Therefore, it was decided to set up a charitable women's health centre. The first such centre was opened in St. Petersburg. We have seen that it works successfully and, most importantly, is in demand. Now in Russia 15 such centres are created, we try to open them in each region. They carry out not only screening, but also do a large amount of preventative and information work. We need to encourage women to be attentive to their health. A healthy woman is a healthy family, a healthy nation, a healthy country,” Svetlana Medvedeva noted. “I would like to thank the Government of the Republic and personally Rustem Khamitov for their assistance in the establishment of the centre. I would like to thank all patrons because welfare centres are built with donations. I want to thank you, dear doctors, for your professionalism, care and attention. I wish success and prosperity to this centre.”
On behalf of the Moscow "White Rose" Charitable Fund Svetlana Medvedeva presented a money certificate for the purchase of necessary medical equipment, as well as her own picture with a symbol of the centre - a white rose.
