The honoured meteorologist of the Russian Federation, Director of the Hydrometeorological Centre of the country Roman Vilfand told the «Izvestia» newspaper how long the warm spell would last and why it was like December weather now.

According to him, meteorologists distinguish not four seasons, but as many as six. Summer is divided into first and second halves, and a cold season includes a pre-winter period. The latter one, will last approximately until December 20 and will be irregular. This is due to the warming and cooling snaps, but generally the temperature will be close to normal.

"In the near time, the temperatures will rise to 5 degrees Celsius, but it will not last for a long time. Then they will start to drop," he said. "We forecast that it will be -3 -5C during the night on November 9 ".

According to Roman Vilfand, now the weather is more similar to the December pattern - it happens in the pre-winter period. "During the winter, the temperatures will be close to the long-term average. But compared to last year winter temperatures will be significantly lower", said the director of the Hydrometeorological Centre of the Russian Federation.

As Bashinform News Agency reported more than 10 cm of snow fell on the night of November 7 to 8 in Ufa.
