"Open Palms" rehabilitation program for children started in Bashkiria

In Bashkortostan, the social program "Open Palms" was launched at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital designed to draw attention to the problems of children with rheumatic diseases, as well as for the introduction of early diagnosis practice, early treatment, comprehensive rehabilitation programs establishment.

On the occasion of the launch of the project a festive event with a rich cultural and entertainment program took place in the health facility, which was attended by both patients and their parents.

The program aim is to bring more communication and emotions into the life of young patients confined behind the hospital walls, to establish a public dialogue on the problems faced by children with rheumatic diseases and their parents.

According to the Ministry of Health RB, arthritis affects about 400 children in the republic. The rheumatology department operates at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital, and substantial funds are allocated to provide young patients with medications. Most of them are regularly being treated in hospitals. The "Open Palms" program is designed to help young patients in socialization and emotional rehabilitation. Within two years of the project the support campaigns were carried out in 10 regions.
