Russians will have extra day off in November - Bashkortostan Ministry of Labour

UFA, 19 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The Russian citizens will have an extra day off in connection with the celebration of the National Unity Day in November.
In accordance with Article 112 of the Labour Code of Russia, November 4 – the National Unity Day - is a non-working holiday. This year, the National Unity Day falls on Friday. Thus, at a five-day working week, the Russians will have a rest for three days - November 4, 5 and 6. The working hours on Thursday, November 3 are reduced by one hour.
The National Unity Day has been celebrated annually since 2005. The festive date appeared in Russia in commemoration of the events of 1612, when the militia led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from Polish invaders. Historically, this festival is associated with the end of the Time of Troubles in Russia in the seventeenth century.
