Scientists have determined beginning dates of flu epidemic

The scientists of the Research Institute of the Russian Ministry of Health determined which strains of the influenza virus would be circulating in the country, for whom they were the most dangerous and when a universal influenza vaccine would be created. The Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Etiology, Daria Danilenko in an interview with TASS reported that this season less intense flu epidemic would be expected than in the last year.

According to the experts, it was a very hard season for the pandemic influenza last year. The influenza B virus actively circulated and the influenza A virus was less common.

According to scientists in Russia there is a seasonal rise in SARS. So far only isolated cases of influenza are registered in the country. It is of high probability that November and a part of December will pass without the epidemic.

In Bashkiria 24.6 percent of the population were vaccinated against influenza. This is more than 1 million people, of which about 900 thousand are adults and 114 thousand children. For the same period of 2015, only six percent of the population was vaccinated. Most part of vaccines was purchased using the funds of the federal budget.
