More than one million Bashkiria residents made flu shots

UFA, 10 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. In Bashkiria 24.6 percent of the population were vaccinated against influenza. This is more than 1 million people, of which about 900 thousand are adults and 114 thousand children. For the same period of 2015, only six percent of the population was vaccinated. Most part of vaccines was purchased using the funds of the federal budget. The data of the influenza vaccination campaign were published by the regional directorate of Rospotrebnadzor as of October 7.

The department explains that the available flu vaccines protect against the virus strains that are most active in this epidemiological season.

Currently, the republic recorded a seasonal increase in the incidence of acute respiratory infections; the flu is not registered so far. The incidence rate is below the epidemic threshold.
