Boeing 777-200 was first to land updated runway at Ufa Airport

UFA, 7 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. The wide-body long-haul Boeing 777-200 carrying out a transit flight from Moscow's Sheremetyevo was the first to land the second runway at the Ufa Airport, the press service of the Ufa aviation hub informs.

Reconstruction of the runway lasted a year and a half. In the course of modernization the coating was completely replaced by a new one on reinforced concrete. The design service life of this coating is at least 20 years.

The length and width of the runway remained unchanged (3761 and 45 meters respectively). But the bearing capacity coefficient has a 1.5-fold increase giving the airport an opportunity to accommodate such aircrafts as Boeing 747, Boeing 777, Ruslan, Airbus A330, without any restrictions, including on the number of takeoffs and landings.

"Modernization will allow us increasing efficiency of the aerodrome facilities and will improve the airport capacity for the next 15-20 years,” said General Director of the Ufa Airport Alexander Andreev. “We can say that today Ufa has one of the best airports in Russia on technological capabilities".
