Bashkortostan ploughmen did not reach top twenty of World Ploughing Contest in England

UFA, 13 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Ildar Ishikaev from Bashkortostan and Vadim Zaretsky from Udmurtia failed to reach the top twenty in the World Ploughing Contest in England. The current Russian champion Vadim Zaretsky managed to get ahead of a strong opponent from Finland, having lost just two points to the representative of Croatia. As a result, he took the 25th place - the best result among the Russian machine operators in the world contest to date.

The Russian ploughmen competitors were winners of national championships of Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, South Africa and several European countries. A total of 30 countries participated in the World Team Championship.

Representatives of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and England performed with a large margin from other ploughmen.

The Scottish brothers won unconditional victory in the contest: Andrew Mitchell, Jr. became a leader in reversible contest and Andrew Mitchell Snr won "gold" in conventional plowing.

Experts say that despite the fact that the Russian ploughmen were not included in the top twenty, they showed good progress in their performance.

Every world championship has its own specifics and features. This year very unique and spectacular event was the World Vintage Ploughing Championships. For two days the events were visited by more than 20 thousand spectators.

The Russian ploughmen Vadim Zaretsky and Ildar Ishikaev will soon participate in another international event. On October 17, the Russian machine operators will go to the European Ploughing Championships, which will be held in Edinburgh (Scotland).
