Legendary Alexander Karelin was guest of honour at Vladimir Bormann Memorial

UFA, 9 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. The 21st All-Russian Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament in memory of Vladimir Bormann opened in Ufa. Its organizers are the Russian Sport Wrestling Federation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The competition will be attended by over one hundred athletes from the regions of Russia and the near abroad. Bashkortostan will be presented by 30 fighters, including the World Cup champion, the champion of Russia Azamat Bikbaev, the winner of the Russian and European championships, Islam Opiev, the winner of the Russian championship, bronze medalist of the European championship Aslan Tolov, winner of the Russian Championship Nokhcho Labazanov and others.

The guest of honour of the tournament was a three-time Olympic champion, the legendary classic style fighter, state and political figure, Hero of Russia Alexander Karelin.

The athlete visited a TV company, met with players of "Ufa-Alice" handball club, paid a visit to the Bashkir lyceum No.136 as part of the federal program "Wrestling in Schools".
