HC Salavat Yulaev (Ufa) lost for the third time in a row
UFA, 9 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. A match of the ninth season championship of the Kontinental Hockey League took place in Ufa on September 8. HC Salavat Yulaev was defeated at this time by HC Jokerit from Finland - 2: 3.
At the beginning of the third period, the home team had a chance to take the lead (at this point there was a draw - 1: 1) due to the penalty of Brian O'Neil. But the Ufa club did not take advantage of it.
On the contrary they let in a goal by Tommy Huhtala in the middle of the period after a long attack of Jokerit - 2: 1.
Teemu Hartikainen scored a double on powerplay in the 55th minute - 2: 2. He was again assisted by Swedes Andreas Engqvist and Linus Omark.
In the dying minutes both teams tried to finish the match in regular time and the visitors succeeded. The same Huhtala expertly overplayed two Ufa players and after a breakaway 30 seconds before the honk hit the net - 3: 2 in favour of Jokerit.
HC Salavat Yulaev left the ice defeated for the third time in a row, but this time even without points.
On September 10, the Ufa team will compete with Dynamo (Minsk) on the home ice.
