Bashkir microlight aircraft crew won world championship
UFA, 5 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. In the suburbs of London the 15th World Microlight Championship was held. Pilots from 17 countries took part in the competition.
Alfiya and Maxim Semenovs, members of the Bashkortostan parachuting team and members of the Russian national microlight aircraft sport, competed in the "flexwing tandem" (WL-2) class. The microlight aircraft includes also solo trikes and aircrafts and tandems. The WL class participants performed 11 different exercises.
According to the results of competitions Alfiya and Maxim Semenovs became the world champions. Maxim operates aircrafts since 2004, but started to participate in competitions only in 2011, having achieved amazing results in a short time. These international competitions became the fifth for him. One year ago it was decided to make Alfiya Semenova a navigator of the pilot before the championship of Russia. For the second consecutive year, the Semenovs crew becomes the Russian champion.
