Vaccination campaign against influenza began in Bashkortostan

UFA, 2 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. Residents of Bashkortostan began to be vaccinated against influenza. According to the press service of the Ministry of Health RB, in 2016 specialists plan to vaccinate 1.2 million people (30 percent of the population), including 300,000 children, of them 55 thousand children of pre-school institutions and 245 thousand schoolchildren.

Among the adult population workers of health and educational organizations will be vaccinated in the first place (more than 140 thousand), then employees of the transport sector (about 11 thousand), utilities workers (about three thousand). Also persons older than 60 years and patients with chronic diseases will be vaccinated. In addition, 80 thousand students and more than seven thousand recruits are subject to vaccination.

900 thousand doses of vaccine are received for immunization of adults in the republic, more than 116 thousand doses for children. Experts note that the vaccination significantly reduces the risk of influenza disease, prevents development of complications and fatal outcomes, and urge residents of the republic to be vaccinated in a timely manner before the epidemic season of influenza and SARS.
