Bashkir Wikipedia volunteers will participate in WMCEE meeting in Armenia

UFA, 24 August 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alik Shakirov /. Two representatives of Bashkortostan will take part in the annual meeting of Wikimedia’s of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (WMCEE-2016). The fifth meeting of the international movement of volunteers to spread free knowledge will be held on August 27-29 in the Armenian city of Dilijan. The program includes presentations regarding Wikimedia projects, free knowledge and free content, open source software. It will also address social and technical aspects related to these topics.

"We are participating in WMCEE for the second time, but for the first time we are registered in the list as an independent and the only regional group of volunteers. Bashkir Wikipedia will be represented at the meeting by Rishat Saifutdinov and Denis Zianbetov. Young people are engaged in Wikimedia projects not for the first year. They have earned the right to represent the Bashkir people in the international event by their active participation in the wiki movement. We hope that the communication with colleagues from other countries will allow them to accumulate enough experience and confidence and to carry out a certain activity in the Bashkir projects ", said the Bashkir Wikipedia administrator and coordinator of the Wikimedia group of Bashkortostan Rustam Nuryev.
