Bashkortostan aviators celebrated their professional holiday

UFA, 22 August 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. On Sunday, August 21 Air Fleet Day is celebrated in Russia. This holiday was established on April 28, 1933 to honour the outstanding achievements of scientists, aircraft engineers, aviation industry workers, pilots and technical staff of the Air Force. For a long time it was celebrated on August 18 and in 1980 it was decided to celebrate this holiday every third Sunday of the last month of summer.

Aviators of our republic make a worthy contribution to the development of the republican transport complex. "The Ufa International Airport is a modern aviation complex capable of accommodating all types of aircrafts. This is the first regional airport in Russia, which confirmed its compliance with manufacturing standards ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations). More than 40 Russian and foreign airlines use the air services of the company. Today the Ufa Airport has two runways and taxiways and two terminals.

The Russian Air Fleet Day is also marked by employees of the aviation industry. These are Ufa Instrument Engineering Production Association (UPPO), Ufa Aggregate Production Association (UAPO), "Gidravlika" plant and others in Bashkortostan.
