Bashkir athletes as part of Russian team can take part in Summer Olympic Games 2016 with mandatory conditions
UFA, 25 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to admit Russian athletes to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro but with three conditions, which the sports federations will be guided by taking the final decision for admission: 1) crystal clear drug history; 2) absence in the McLaren reports; 3) passing additional rigorous anti-doping test.
Today Bashkortostan is represented in 2016 Games as part of the Russian national team by the following sportsmen: fencing athletes Arthur Ahmathuzin and Timur Safin, volleyball players Alexander Volkov and Dmitry Kovalev, as well as a rower- canoeist Ilya Pervukhin.
The jumper Daniel Lysenko and runner Gulshat Fazlitdinova were not admitted to the Olympics as part of the disqualified track and field athletes.
The former trainee of Bashkir sport school, pentathlete Gulnaz Gubaidulina, who represents in parallel the Moscow Region and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District may also get to the Games.
