Emergency Situations Ministry named causes of smog in Ufa

UFA, 22 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The cause of the smog shrouded Ufa was named by the First Deputy Chief of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Bashkortostan Aleksey Artemov. As the rescuer underlined the smoke over the city was a consequence of severe fires in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District.

The explanations were given during a coordination meeting chaired by the Chief Federal Inspector in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman added that the current smoke is observed now not only in Bashkortostan, but also in the Perm Territory, the Orenburg region.

"The threshold of harmful substances in the air is not exceeded, the situation is kept under control", assured Alexey Artemov.

Previously, the situation was commented by the Ministry of Ecology RB. The department reports that in Ufa adverse weather conditions continue contributing to the accumulation of pollutants in the atmosphere. The smog also retains in the northern, northeastern and eastern regions of the republic.
