"Silk Road" rally special stage between Kazan and Ufa is canceled due to rain

UFA, 11 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. A special stage of the second part of the "Silk Road" rally, which connects Kazan and Ufa, is canceled. The reason for that was the difficult weather conditions, endangered the safety of the participants, the organizers explained.

As reported on the official website of the rally, the leader of the SUV standings is a Peugeot driver Stephane Peterhansel, he was four seconds ahead of Vladimir Vasilyev from the G-Energy Team and his team-mate Sebastien Loeb. The fourth was Yazeed Al-Rahji and Miroslav Zapletal closed the top five.

In the category of trucks a Renault driver Maarten van den Brink and Sergey Vyazovich from MAZ-SPORT-auto team were in the lead. The third position was taken by a Renault driver Pascal de Bar, and the fourth place was occupied by the international Russian-Chinese crew of Hongning Hou, Xin Shen, and Andrey Mokeev, initiated by PJSC "Gazprom" as a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The top five is closed by Eduard Nikolayev in a new KAMAZ truck.
