Rustem Khamitov: "The republic does not intend to let sanatoriums float freely"

UFA, 8 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. Bashkortostan's Government does not intend to transfer sanatoriums to private ownership. The Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov stated this at the reception of citizens.
“Today in the media there is a lot of different inventions about the fact that the Government of the republic is going to sell sanatoriums. It is not true,” said Rustem Khamitov. “We are talking about how to change the form of these resorts management and to raise additional funds for the construction of new buildings. If these resorts are developed, then, eventually, the cost of vouchers will decrease. We do corporatization of health resorts in order to attract additional resources to construct new buildings and upgrade them. These sanatoriums were built 10-15 years ago, largely at the expense of the industrial enterprises resources. Then they did help. Now businesses do not assist in this work, but sanatoriums need to be developed. Therefore incorporation of these resorts is under consideration, but they will remain in state ownership. The republic does not intend to let sanatoriums float freely, sell to private traders. It is absolutely out of the question.”
The Salavat resident Maria Dorofeeva raised a topic of republican sanatoriums accessibility for people with disorders of the musculoskeletal system. According to her, many health facilities do not have an accessible environment: there are no elevators, ramps, and other necessary conditions.
According to the Head of the Republic, a change of form of these institutions management can improve the situation.
