Rustem Khamitov has met with Chairman of Russian Foundation for Basic Research Council Vladislav Panchenko

UFA, 24 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the Chairman of the Council of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav Panchenko. During the meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation between science and industry, human resources in science, development of innovative technologies in the country.
Vladislav Panchenko takes part in the All-Russian Conference "Improvement of the Interaction System between the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and Entities of the Russian Federation on Regional and Youth Competitions Issues" which is held in Ufa.
“For the first time we hold such a conference. Almost 60 regions attend it. Here we have gathered to discuss how to organize correctly science in regions,” said Vladislav Panchenko. “Nationwide uniformly of high level research could provide people with good jobs and cause the most talented young people to stay here.”
The Head of the Region said that in Bashkortostan, the work was underway on forming the oil test site for developing innovative technologies and their subsequent implementation at the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex. However, large companies now express little interest in the establishment of the test site as they are focused on foreign developments.
“At the retreat session of the Security Council in Cheboksary issues of information security were discussed. We offered to establish a Russian Certification Centre, which would be engaged in certification of domestic software products and hardware to prove that they meet the best world standards,” Rustem Khamitov said. “Besides, we talked about what we need to create a software factory. Our country needs a huge amount of programs. As a rule they are written discretely, but here everything will be systematized.”
In 2015, an agreement was signed between the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Government of Bashkortostan. The document envisages holding of regional competitions of fundamental scientific research projects, including cross-disciplinary, as well as the organization of international scientific events (conferences, seminars).
Last year, it was financed 70 research projects, published 11 books, 187 articles in Russian journals, 64 - in foreign journals, and obtained 21 patents.
Following the results of the examination conducted at the end of the year by the Regional Council of Experts 64 projects were recommended for further financing. The volume of their financial support in 2016 will amount to 25.6 million rubles, of which 12.8 million rubles - at the expense of the republican budget.
