One third of Russians considers significant a decline in the country's economy - study
UFA, 15 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. The Institute of Public Opinion "Anketolog" conducted monitoring dedicated to identifying the level of welfare of Russian households and evaluation of the economic situation in the country. According to the study, exactly half of the respondents can meet their basic needs for food and clothing, but larger acquisitions cause them difficulties. Things are somewhat worse in 21 percent of respondents, with the funds for the purchase of food only. However, the worst position is among five percent of the respondents who are in poverty. There is a general decrease in share of people with average incomes toward the "poor" ones. Total 59 percent of respondents indicated that the level of material well-being of their families in the past 12 months had deteriorated in varying degrees (32 percent - slightly deteriorated, 27 percent - to a large extent). In the same emotional vein, the respondents assess the general state of the economy: 36 percent marked a significant decline, another 14 percent - a deep crisis. The forecast of changes in the situation in the economic system has no positive trends: 18 percent of those surveyed said that a slight deterioration should be expected, 19 percent - a deep crisis.
